Vidlun Terms of Use

By installing Vidlun you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Vidlun is

A voice journal for feelings. You speak, the app transcribes on the phone itself, and a language model proposes names for what was said and once a week writes a piece about your week.

2. This is not a medical service

Vidlun does not diagnose, does not treat, and does not replace a doctor, psychologist or therapist. It is a journal, not a medical device.

What the model writes is a suggestion drawn from your own words, not a clinician's finding. It can be wrong, and the app deliberately leaves every suggestion yours to change.

If you are in distress and thoughts of harming yourself feel like a way out, do not face it alone and do not rely on an app.

3. No account

There is no sign-up. Your entries belong to your phone, not to us. The consequence worth knowing: if you lose the phone or delete the app, the entries are gone for good — we hold no copy to restore them from.

4. Subscription

Free forever: recording, transcription, emotion names, the journal, search, the mood chart and the emotion vocabulary.

Paid: the weekly piece — the one that reads your whole week and speaks about it as a whole.

Plans. Monthly, with no trial. Annual, with seven free days at the start. Lifetime, a single payment that does not renew. The App Store shows the current price in your currency before you buy; we do not repeat it here, so that it cannot disagree with what you actually see.

Auto-renewal. A subscription renews itself until cancelled. Apple charges within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel any time in your Apple ID settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends — otherwise the renewal has already happened.

Trial. If you buy before the free days end, the unused part is forfeited. Apple decides trial eligibility itself, once per subscription group.

Payment and refunds. All payments go through Apple. We never receive card numbers or any other payment details, and we cannot issue a refund ourselves — Apple handles refunds at https://reportaproblem.apple.com.

5. Your entries are yours

You remain the owner of everything you record. We acquire no rights to it, do not publish it, do not sell it, and do not use it to train models. Technically we could not: there is no server of ours that holds it.

6. What you may not do

We may end access to the paid part if this section is broken. Your entries are unaffected — they are on your phone.

7. Availability

We try to keep everything working, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Analysis depends on a third party (Anthropic), which can be unavailable. Recording and reading your journal work without it — that is deliberate.

We may change the app and these terms. We will announce material changes in the app in advance. If we stop providing the service, we will give at least 30 days' notice and will not charge for any period after it ends.

8. Warranties and liability

The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost entries, for decisions made on the strength of what the model wrote, or for indirect losses.

Our total liability will not exceed what you paid for Vidlun in the preceding 12 months.

None of this narrows your consumer rights. If you are in the European Union or Ukraine, mandatory consumer protection law applies regardless of anything above.

9. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app and provides no support for it. If the app fails to conform to a warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; beyond that, the responsibility is ours. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

10. Governing law

The law of [COUNTRY]. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules of your country of residence.
